Default Front dana 60 question

Hey guys..

Im getting ready to order new gears for my truck. 99 2500 quad cab long bed 4x4 gas. I have a 5" lift and 35" tires.

Truck still has the stock 3.54 gears in it... and it is a Dog lol. So im going with either 4.56 or 4.88 gears and probably some kinda locker for the back.

I got 60's under both ends. Was just wondering what axle spline counts the axles have?? Ill prob pull the tags of the diff covers the next time it warms up a lil bit.

thanks for the help!!!

Warm? What's that? Here in siberia....... It never seems to get warm, and summer is just a pleasant memory, that might just as well have been a dream......

ok... Front, 30, maybe 32, maybe 35...... Rear, 30 or 35........ This is information I am interested in as well, but, so far, the only way I have found to tell for sure, is to either look..... or, get the numbers off of the axles, and have 'em decoded..... Dodge dealer might be able to tell you that.....

You are going to have to replace your carriers anyway, as the 4.56 gears won't fit on whats in there now. Might be able to get thick gears.... but, lockers sound like more fun.

Ya if its slow at work tomorrow im gonna pull the truck in and take the tags off the covers... and try to find somewhere to have them decoded. I think the front is gonna be the tought one.. Since its a 99... thought i have read somewhere that halfway thru that year they switched from 30 to 32 spline or something like that.

And ya ill be getting a new carrier for the front.

Was thinking about the Ox locker for the rear.. I like that its cable operated.. Not sure i trust the arb locker with the air lines and all that. Was also thinking of a detroit but not sure i want the rear end wanting to lock on me whenever it wants... since the roads suck here in the winter lol.

for the price I would go with a detroit locker, unless you do hard core offroading
