Default 1998 Ram 1500 Overdrive won't disengage..

My Ram overdrive will not disengage. Button does nothing. Light on dash doesn't work. Is there a fuse or relay that could be at fault. Going to check bulb this evening. Could it be the solenoid.
How do I clean the OD switch..Does it screw off or do I pry it off.
Tks for your help...

Overdrive off switch just sends a bit of voltage to the PCM to tell it what NOT to do. Yours is in the gear shift **** isn't it? Start by testing the switch.

Default 1998 Dodge Ram...1500

How do I remove the Overdrive switch? Do I pry off the bezel over the button? Or does it screw off the shift lever?

Find the wiring where it emerges from the column. Not sure just how "serviceable" the know/button is......

There is an 01 service manual available for download in the faq section, it has wiring diagrams that should put you in the right neighborhood at least. Not sure if wire colors will be correct. Might get lucky....
