You realize the leaf springs are different widths right?

yeah i know that, i already have the perches moved and stuff already...the problem im having is the u bolt in the front fits in and matches up to the holes fine, the back ones wont reach the holes unless i bend them and then it pops off the plate on top of the axle so it sits real crooked. so i dont know whether to get new plates for underneath or what to do

Then maybe the u bolts are wrong. I'm sure you must have already figured that though.

the u bolts match the leaf springs fine, i need a different bottom u bolt plate. the one for under the axle because the axle tubes are alot wider.

I had my u bolts made here in town at a semi place that makes ubolts and springs. Mine i had to squeeze together as well to get them in the holes but in the end after working with it for a min everything lined up. Im sure your not but make sure not to tighten everything. Get everything together then tighten it up.

yeah i got one side in for the u bolts, but the one thats closer to the front of the truck went down and slid into the holes after some squeezing fine.....the one close to the back of the truck, when i tried to push it down into the holes while squeezing it, it kept popping off the top of the leaf spring and it sits on an angle. the axle tube is just to big and it wont sit straight.....i might have to try and get a pic.

Seems like you'd have to use the plates from the 2500 since it's axle is larger diameter. Would that work? If nothing else you could slot the holes on one side to accomadate the u bolts that fit the half ton springs. Seems like slts would be better than bending the u bolts to fit the wider holes.

maybe a stupid question, but why are you putting an axle from a 1500 onto a 2500?

Yeah I could prob drill them out a bit, or get the 2500 ones. I was just seeing what other people who have done it did to fix this. And I'm putting 1 ton axles in my 1500 not the other way around
