Default 94 Ram 2500 stalling at a complete stop.

I own a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500, 360ci, 2wd, automatic transmission. I have been having a problem with my truck stalling at a complete stop. This doesnt happen all the time. I bought the truck used a few years ago and I am not sure what type of maintenece has been done on the truck. When I came to a complete stop, I can feel the RPMs of the truck start to drop. It is like when coming to a complete stop with a manual transmission and not engaging the clutch. Can anyone give me some pointers?

It could also be the valve body in the trans sticking causing the trans not to shift. Check your trans fluid and see what it looks like. Easy check. If its bad tho could lead to bigger problems if not corrected fast. Dirty fluid leads to rebuild in a hurry.

Default Same Problem on a Diesel

Hello everyone.

I got the same problem on my 1998 RAM 2500 Cummins. I can't seem to find the IAC. Do diesel motors have it too?

I'll do that. What's weird about it though is that it stalls only when I'm on a gear (i.e. D,2,1,R). If I'm on neutral or park it doesn't do that. I'm worried it's something in the tranny.

I suggest you post this question in the oil burner section.

The problem was with the torque converter...hopefully this will save you the time and $75 diagnosis it cost me

Mine was doing the same thing. It was the torque converter. Cost $75 go diagnosis, and I was quoted $805 for parts & labor but then found someone else to do it for $675. Mine is diesel so if you have ga it might be cheaper.
