DO NOT reuse head bolts! They warp/stretch/bend over time. Spend the extra money and get new ones.....

the EASIEST way is to try the liquid glass repair product. sometimes it works, sometimes not. if not, you're not out a lot of time or money.

the right way is to remove the head(s) and take them to a machine shop to be magnafluxed for cracks. or visually inspect and see cracks between the valve seats and replace them with new loaded heads from Clearwater or other. resist any urge to repair cracked stock heads. they're likely to crack again in the same place, or somewhere else.

No issue with re-using the head bolts on the 5.9 engines. When I replaced the head gaskets on the motor I swapped into my truck, I re-used the head bolts with no issues. I did run a bottoming tap thru all of the threaded bolt holes in the block to ensure good thread engagement and accurate torque readings. I also cleaned up the old head bolts threads with a thread die, too. Been running that engine now for the past few years with no issues at all.
