i'am looking for some info on the d70 power lock (posi) rear end. i have 3.54 gears and want to switch to 4.10 ratio. i found a carrier for 4.10 with no guts. can i transfer the side gears ,spiders and clutches from the 3.55 carrier to the 4.10 carrier. i have a 98' and the 4.10 is 99'. do dodge d70 come with different kinds of carriers for posi or are they all the same (power lock)?

For dana 70 the carrier is good from 3.54-4.10. 99dodge318 hit the nail on the head with the front gear swap too. If you want it to lock more and stay locked i suggest going to the dealer and getting a rebuild kit for the limited slip. They come with a shim pack and just use the thicker shim with asembling.

From what I have read
Dana does have different carriers, but from what I can see all D70 from 94-01 use the Power-lock or standard diffs, D44,D60and D80 use Trac-lock or standard diffs.
The diff housing needs to be changed when switching between trac and power lock.
Dana made changes, the 94-98 and 99-01 are different on a couple of things, but the diff seems to be the same.
