BTW!! There is another brand to stay FAR away from, but i cannot remember the name. (its a well known brand if i remember). Maybe someone can chime in... Again i would go with redhead, got one in the cummins, and gunna have one in the 1500 here soon. While your at it, if you got over 100k on the original power steering pump, i would toss a new one in, i have heard and experienced stories of putting a new box in and blowing the pump days later, due to the new box9dunno why but its happen to me twice plus to buddies)

Just ordered a spare for Megarun last month. They are the best steering box I've seen out there. I beat the crap out of mine and i have not been able to break it or make it leak yet. I have had it on my truck for two years it's seen approx a dozen competitions and 130k miles. I just run it on atf+4 with a stock ps pump.

I wont buy a PSC box. From what I have read, they say it is the same design as the one that came in our trucks. That is great in all, but I am no fan of how hard our trucks turn. If I'm gonna replace it, I'd rather upgrade to what Borgeson has. A quick drive of a '11 Super Duty had me hooked on how easy the steering was, and I want it for my Ram.

Geno's Garage has a good explanation:

I think $47 to ship a 35 pound steering box from Washington state to Florida isnt too bad.

Hey don't quote me on this but I'm almost positive I read somewhere that a good bolt on upgrade is installing a the gear box from a 3500 onto your 1500/2500. Reasons being that the 3500 is a non-variable gear box and although it will be slightly stiffer to turn at low RPM's it will be better in the dirt and I believe it is actually less exspensive to boot! If anyone can recall what thread that was on to give due credit I would appreciate it...it might have been on a different site though.

How would a box that is stiffer to turn at low RPMs be better in the dirt/

And what exact advantages does the 3500 box have? Harder to turn isnt an advantage.
