Has anyone used one of those steering box braces from PSC or BD, was contemplating buying one but are they worth the money?

And what exact advantages does the 3500 box have? Harder to turn isnt an advantage.

Yeah, like I said I am quoting an unknown article...I searched long and hard but couldn't turn anything up.

One would assume that the parts used in a 3500 would be stronger than the 1500 but I'm not going to pretend to know the finer points of non-variable vs. variable powersteering. I do know that the variable uses diffrent fluid pressures to alter the way steering is at high vs low speeds and maybe that system is weaker when your talking about oversized tires and off-road conditions?

I will keep searching for the article, I know I read this somewhere and I know it said that the steering box bolted directly up in a 1500...Hopefully someone can chime in who either knows where the thread is or understands the differences better then I do.

I am having some work done to my truck (2" front leveling kit). The guy at the shop was recommending that i put on the steering box brace.

I guess that there are two bearings in the steering box and the gear that sticks out. his reasoning is that when it turns, the upper bearing acts as a pivot point and puts force on the bottom bearing. The brace ads another bearing at the other end of the gear to make it stronger.
