Brake lights, reverse lights, and turn signals are not working.
My initial problem was that I had a mystery battery drain, and noticed that my blinkers and hazard lights weren't working. I replaced the flasher relay in the fusebox, and the battery drain issue is fixed BUT, none of the blinkers (including the indicators in the dash), brake lights, or the reverse lights work. The regular tail lights and running lights work fine, but won't blink. Is there a connector somewhere that I should check? Or a known grounding problem? Or is it alien interference?
do you have the right flasher...its not like overly sized or somthing compared to the old one....and a battery drain shouldn't be cause by just a flasher and/or fixed by one... for the most part all the flasher does is control the blinkers/turn signals or hazards when power is applied to them
As far as I know its correct, and I've heard from several sources that a stuck relay can cause battery drain. I'm getting no voltage at the sockets, and I don't hear the flasher clicking when I try to turn the swith on. Do you know if all those lights run through the multi-function switch?
I can't find another relay/flasher, and it just seems like too much coincidence for them to both quit working. From reading some other stuff, 98 sounds like the year model they started phasing from two circuits to one.
