diesel swap
i was woundering if the 4bt swap into a 1500 is worth it and if u can still pull a trailer and everything like u can with the magnum and how reliable the 4bt is
From what I have read, the 4bt, when properly built and maintained, is basically indestructible. Some folks have been running 60 pounds plus of boost, cranking over 400 horsepower... etc. And still get fuel economy in the 20's.........
If you have the money to play, looks like a reasonable plan to me.

i was just woundering if it would be worth the money and i dind tknow how reliable the 4bt is because if i do it im not going to do it all at once im going to slow start buying everything and try to find a used 4bt so i can get it cheaper and i want a diesel but i cant bring myself to sell my truck ive had to many good times in it and it has also never let me down even with the 318 and 46re in it i hooked up to a titian and after that the titian had twisted axle and blew his rear end and that truck has only 20,000 miles mine had 193,000 at the time but back to the diesel i just want something i can still pull a trailer with and still have the power to play around in the mud ive heard u can directly bolt a 6bt into the 1500s without any problems but i dont have the money for a 6bt but i also am having trouble locating a 4bt for a descent price

You will pay the same for a 4bt and a 6bt as the 6bt is much more common. You can bolt a 6bt into a 1/2 ton but you will crush the front suspension, there is a reason the things only come in 3/4 ton+ trucks. 4bt has same durability reputation as the 6bt, Cummins only builds industrial grade engines. A mildly turned up 4bt will have as much power as the engine in your truck and get 20mpg+.
