Default Door Buzzers

I had a 2000 ram a few years ago and now i have a 97. My 2000 had a nice soft pinging when the door was open, and the 97 has a stupid annoying loud buzz. Has anyone changed there door buzzers, or any suggestions?

No, dont take it out. On the steering column, unsrew and remove the top and bottom plastic covers. Underneath the key cylinder is a two wire connection. Unplug it. Door buzzer stops, everything else functions normally. You could even wire it like I did to the key ring light for those of us that dont have the light from the factory

i don't think so. on my 01 the dinger is in the CTM box, under the dash and sort of behind the cigarette lighter. its controls all things timing related. i don't know where the 97 buzzer is, but the likelyhood of it being interchangable with the 01 is slim to none.

as said, remove the column covers and unplug the switch connector.
