Let us know if you find any garbage in the bottom of the pan other than just some grey slidge on magnet. Also, you may want to instlall a drain plug in the pan for future use.

Going to dive into this trans issue today. Drove it yesterday with the Over Drive off and had the same issue. I put it into Neutral then back into drive and after putting it back to Drive, I "goosed" the gas and it was in Neutral still, "goosed" it again and it kicked through to 3rd. Just another "sympton" I thought I'd pass along for future trouble shooters and to possibly help refine your guys input. I'll update later this evening after the basic maintainence is done.

Well gentlemen, I dove into my transmission yesterday. the fluid looked good, there was some grime build up on the magnet, pretty thick, but being a used truck, god only knows last time it was checked. i replaced the one sensor that looks like a tiny canister (about as big around as a quarter, faces directly down), new gasket, fluid...and the ol' girl seems to be doing just fine. I really appreciate your guy's input and advice, anytime any of you are passing through southern Ohio, send me a message on here and I'll buy the first round of brews as a Thanks.

That would be the Gov. Solenoid. If it acts up again, get one of these instead of a stock one. http://www.doghousediesel.com/catalog/i307.html
