So first off I'd like to say i just joined DF so bare with me a bit. Anyways on to the dodge...I just got the truck not to long ago, never gave me a problem till now. Just past few days its been gettin colder and past couple mornings i have had some really hard starts. I first noticed it when i hit the command start then walked out a few minutes and the truck was still tryin to start itself. I shut off the command start and tried myself...no go. She would whirl over no problem but would fire a couple cylinders and then die. I finally got her going after givin her a little gas, ran perfect all day after that. (figured the command start may have just flooded her)

Then this morning she did the same thing again except i didnt use the command. She would not start until i gave it some gas but i also had to hold my foot on the gas til it warmed up a bit cause it wouldnt idle on its own. I am thinkin TPS? but i have also been told could be the cam and/or crankshaft sensors? Thanks guys any help is appreciated.

 

If it runs good once it starts and warms, cam and crank sensors are probably OK. I would be looking more at IAC, and TPS.

 

Hey thanks...yea i just got out of the garage...im pretty sure my TPS is good, after looking around i figured it was the IAC valve like you said, i think cause its cold it just needs to be cleaned out or i might have to buy a new one, and if thats not it i'll also replace TPS hopin its one of the two. They are both farely simple/cheap fixes so im not to worried. Thanks again!

 

what is TPS?

 

Throttle Position Sensor. Drivers side of the throttle body, throttle shaft turns it.

 

Either no spark or no fuel. I am willing to bet on the fuel pump. How many miles on the truck?
