sure it will fit. But it is definitely not recommended because it will do more harm than good. If you need it as a temporary spare than it would be ok, but most definitely NOT GOOD for regular use on the road. The tire will not sit on the rim right and you will have issues with it. It is NOT SAFE.
You are far better off spending the $$ and buy a new one. Also, if you look around and do some research on tire replacement, it is recommended that you either get the exact same tire as the others or one as similar in tread shape and life. It is best to replace tires in pairs or as a set of four, that they are fitted to your rim size and that you do not exceed the recommended dimensions... not to shoot down any custom mod ideas or anything, but the recommendations are to be taken serious when dealing with tires because of safety issues.
Hope this helps. please message if you need more help.

It needs a 16.5" rim.
It will not seat on the bead properly even if it stays on.

Are you trying to KILL someone!!!

You absolutely can NOT put a 16.5 tire on a 16 rim and visa-versa!!!!

NEVER even suggest it 'could' be done!!! Anyone that says you could is a dangerous person!!!

What does a video showing someone overinflating the **** out of a tire have to do with the question? You can put a 16.5 tire on a 16 rim. However you most likely will spin the rims inside the tire and the will go flat. If putting a 16 tire on a 16.5 rim they will not seat round and will drive horibbly. And they blow up when seating the bead.

Putting a tire on a rim that it is NOT designed for is a recipe for disaster. It is UNSAFE. Should you pull that particular stunt, cause an accident, the lawsuits will be flying at an unprecedented rate.

DO NOT DO IT.

I don't think it is even possible. It would never seal.

If you think a 16.5'' tire will fit on a 16'' wheel, I'd ask for my education back.

many years back i worked for a tire shop. i was sent to go get some parts and when i returned all bay doors were opened, u could hardly see the building for all the dust coming out, sirens were blaring heading to our location...
another technition had mounted a 16.5 tire on a 16" rim and inflated it...it blew...he was standing over it airing it when it happened...
last i knew he still can't breathe well...the tire came off heading straight up at a horrific speed when it was stopped by his chest....and then both went up northward...when it was done he was about 25' away from where he started and the tire machine was not far away either.

safety first even when the tire does match the rim.
