Too much play in drive shaft?

Default Too much play in drive shaft?
So how much play should be in my main drive shaft...2001 4x4 1500? It maybe rotates about 3/8"?

So long as it isn't the u-joints that are sloppy, some movement is to be expected. (clearances in gears and such, that only grow larger over time.)

Thanks, was worried it may have been too much play. No play in the U-joints...it is in the gears.
