Does your cruise control light come on in your steering wheel when you hit the On button?

Ok, so either vacuum, or, a problem with the cruise servo then. Check the line at the servo, and see if there is vacuum there. If there is, inspect the servo, and see if the vacuum bladder (for lack of the techno term for it....) isn't damaged in some way.
