1999 Dodge Ram P0307 after hitting a puddle?
Hello all!
I was driving today and I hit a puddle that was probably about 4-5" deep and stalled my truck out. I looked under the hood and saw that water had made it's way up to the top of the motor, and it wouldn't start. After it sat for a few minutes it started up, but it was running rough. After a little while of driving it's running fine now, no misfires, etc. It didn't throw a code, but I checked it anyways and pulled P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire. Should I just reset the code and chalk this one up to stupidity on my part?

Nope, no light. I've got a nice Innova 3130 code scanner, I just hate resetting it because I've got an emissions check coming up soon and it takes forever to be ready to test again. Stupid Ohio emissions laws.
i had the same problem yesterday after plowing all the wetness from the roads got my coil wet and it stalled out. now today it rained all day and she wont start at all! im so pissed!

Take a hair dryer to the plugs and coil and see what you have then
I'm in Mentor, OH. The E-Check people seem like a bunch of crooks sometimes. Just because your PCM isn't fully ready to test yet, they fail you instantly, and you can only fail three times before you've got to get an EPA voucher.
Do you have any idea how to get this truck to perform the O2S test? It's the only sensor that isn't ready for testing yet, and it needs to be tested soon before something else breaks on this truck ... First it was the rear wheel anti-lock sensor that made me fail emissions, then it was that plastic vacuum line that controls the heater leaking, and now what's next? Probably the plenum gasket, lol. It's so bad that I went out and bought a code reader just so I could be sure I was ready for testing before I went in, the guy at O'Reilly's auto knows me by my first name ...
