Default Changing U-Joints....

I have a 2001 Ram sport 1500. I did a little bit of off roading a couple of weeks back and now I am hearing some clanking noise in my front end. I found out that it was my u-joint. I am replaceing them tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestion or tips to help me make this repair easy? I know that it is a simple job and I have worked on many cars before. But I have never changed a u-joint.

You can do it yourself pretty easy but I bought the parts and went to a local garage and they used a press to put them in. They used a press and had them changed in 15 mins and it was very cheap. I hear you can press them out with a socket and big c-clamp. Only tip I can give you is make sure you buy ones you can grease. If they dont have a grease port in it dont buy it. My factory ones failed at 40k and I fully blame that on the fact it was non-greaseable. How ever you spell it..

Good luck

Wow I just looked at the link from the above post. Thats a nice write up.
