Rattle is normal. That is just the PCV valve regulating flow. (doing exactly what it is supposed to.) Some are just louder than others.....

My current PCV valve rattles, too, corresponding with high manifold vacuum. Cruising down the highway I'll tickle the throttle just a bit to make sure the noise isn't hiding a sticky lifter. Mainly because those long road trips can get boring when the passengers are snoozing.

My old valve only rattled during deceleration, and there was no perceptible oil consumption. The new one rattles during cruise and the oil level is down about a half-quart in ~3500 mostly highway miles. Next time I'm near the dealership during business hours I'm going to pick up a replacement and hope for the best.
