Default Need help please

So i have a 97 dodge 1500 2wd 5.2 liter. The check engine light came on for 2 days ran fine then turned off. Now that its off, Under quarter and half throttle the truck runs really ruff will back fire through the exhaust and jerk heavily. once you give it 3/4 or full throttle all issues go away.

Thing i have replace to fix the problem all new plugs gaped correctly, new wires, new cap new rotor, oil change.

Please can some one shed some light on this for me please. thanks

Any idea what code?

Could be a failing O2 sensor.

Welcome to DF.

any black smoke, rich gassy smell, or worse than normal mpg. - that would be front O2 sensor.

If your cat rattles its bad, mine got clogged and lost a lot of power and no back pressure. Also have someone start your truck while you stand by exhaust, try and hear if its quiter. If youve got aftermarket exhaust its obvioiusly easier to hear.
