Default keeps revving

Went through the carwash and mid way through the wash the idle dropped the truck ran rough. I could barely get out of the wash bay almost like I had water in the distributor. I gave her **** it hesitated and then went like a bat outa hell all is good now except when you tap the gas it holds the revs to about 1000rpm for like 3 seconds then returns to normal. Almost as if the gas pedal gets stuck for a second or two. Any help on this would be appreciated. Could it be a case of something getting wet that shouldn't of?

I have just recently gutted my cat as well

Probably got some water somewhere it should be. Yep. Check the IAC, and TPS. Those are the two most likely culprits.

probably water in the tps. i once had one that surged when it got wet. your's will probably fix itself when it dries out. you might be able to put a little di-electric grease around the wire connector to keep it fixed. when mine did that i got pissed off at it and replaced it.

agree on the tps..when my went my idle would hang up at around 1000-1250 when coming to a stop then drop back down to idle after a second or two
