Default Cutting hole for sunroof, anything to beware of?

I found a nice sunroof in a ram at the jyard. I have an 96 ext cab. I made up a template for it, and Im ready to cut the hole in the roof. I was wondering if anyone knew of any wire harnesses or supports I should watch out for. The sunroof is installing between the center dome light and two reading lamps, with about half an inch clearance at each end of the lights. And maybe 6 inches on each side by doors.

are you planning to remove the headliner for easy access and then retrim it back in?

No I wasnt, I have a cardboard template that I made (very precisely), I was just going to secure it to the headliner/foam and razor blade the outline into the foam (cutting the headliner at the same time), then drill pilot holes through the roof at the corners of the template, and then transfer template to roof and make the real cut. Once I drop the sunroof in, the metal ring should overlap the headliner cut. I made the template so the outside "lip" should have about 1cm of roof to rest on all away around. Sounds confusing but Im working with minimal resources.

i've never removed the headliner, so i don't know the location of the wires to the lamps. We need someone that's had theirs out to say.

when you cut the headliner out, there would be a risk of cutting those wires. i can't imagine anything other than lights, so as long as you disconnect the battery and be gentle and cut only as deep as needed, you should be fine.

take some pics, this sounds like a nice mod.

I've done a bunch of sunroof cuts over the years, one simple piece of advice, don't screw up! LOL Seriously, use common sense take your time, tape the area of the cut so you don't scratch the paint, etc...

Measure 100 times, cut a little bit, and remeasure.

Can probably just cut away, if you end up cutting a wire you will have to splice into it to reroute it around the sunroof opening anyway if there are any wires in there. Maybe just disconnect negative battery cable before cutting.

I have a 96 ext cab, and there is no wires that run between the dome and map lights looking at it now, but I think it would be easier to take it out and cut seperately
