Default Throttle Cable

Trying to figure out how to get the throttle cable off the throttle body. I have already taken out the three little screws that hold the bracket on. What else?

Also, do I need to relieve the gas pressure before taking the fuel line off the fuel rail? Like everything else, is there a special tool I need?

throttle cable 'should'..... just unclip. Slide it off in the opposite direction that it pulls. (Which means, try and push it towards the back of the truck.)

Fuel line needs the special tool to release. Relieving the pressure before doing so wouldn't be a bad idea, but, if it has sat for a day or so, probably wont be any pressure left.

You need the 3/8ths release tool for dodge.

This is true, unless you're talking about the throttle valve cable, in which case, the opposite direction is necessary.

EDIT: Nevermind, we posted replies at the same time, and you seem to have fixed your problem

Something you may want to look into while you are in there is eliminating that clip all together. The clip on my 2000 broke, and my 2001 has a crack in it. What I did on my 2000 was loop the cable back on itself and secure it with a cable ferrule.

Just food for thought.
