if i ever get a good place to store vehicles and a way to transport them i would definitely find a truck with standard transmission. before i bought my 81 i was looking at an 85 with a slant 6 5speed and it was only $500 but it was too far away and i didn't have a place to put it if i bought it at the time.

Best memory ever. When I restored my 83 chevy c-10 it was a straight 6 with 3 on the tree, a buddy of mine looks inside and says " why do you have 2 brake pedals"? lol dumb ***! I miss the ole 3 speed on the column easiest manual vehicle I ever drove.

welll here something else im been thinking, i dont want to buy it and then regrete selling the ram and beeing out of a 4x4... although i have pros and cons to the ram.

-still strong for having 145xxx on it
-has 5.9 shift good lots of power but motor devoped a tick "thinking a colappsed lifter"
still on stock motor, tranny and rear end. prob will soon have to tear the motor apart and do new lifter and spring ext...
-it is the slt with nice bed liner tarno cover.
i have alot of money invested prob 6k with motor mods, body work, vipercowl hood and exhaust system.

so even if i do sell the ram i could prob get 8 or 9 for it and buy the ddakota for 4 and still have 4 to put away and prob spend 2 k on the dakota for new lsd and 3.92 for pittsburgh winters for its a 2wd !

hmm what do you guys think ?

dakots

its bone stock never modded or beaten.
has 77 thousand
5 speed
5.2 motor
better mileage
2wd

You could never get $8-9000 for your Ram. Like $5-6000.

Even funner, a '97 Ford PowerStroke Dump truck with 318,000 miles and a 5 speed. Man that thing is a dream.

They are fun That truck in a 2nd gen was good for mid-high 14 second 1/4 miles ETs stock, 3rd gen is a little heavier though. Mileage will also be pretty good, expect 14 around town and 20+ on the freeway.

I have to agree with ya. Drop that number more after they see your intake thread, and your youtube ram abuse videos LMAO. Just bustin your chops :P Just ask yourself if this is really what you want. If it is exactly what you want, go for it. Otherwise i'd pass.

RWD + 3 inch ground clearance + 8 inches of snow any given time during winter = calling in to work, and losing money. I'd have to roll with the ram. If you've never driven a 5 spd, it's gonna take more than LSD's to get ya movin up a snow covered hill. I have a hard enough time on snowy hills with A/T's in 4WD with my 5 spd.
