I know the speedo and odo are off because of the tires(thats not why i fixed the speedo). So hopefuilly by re adjusting the speedo i didnt hurt the odo at all(seems to be working right)
Moving the needle to where it reads correctly at one speed will only work at that one speed. if you change overall gearing for any reason, moving the damn needle ain't fix the overall error.
This is one of those times when trying to do something for free you get what you pay for. Only way to correct a speedo after gear/tire changes is to do either computer or speedo gear change. I guess it all depends on much error you can live with. If it doesnt bug you that it is off then who cares. If it does you are gonna have to dig in your wallet a little to fix it. A speedo gear change is quick and easy, and takes about 5 min. Depending on where you get them from the price will vary. I dont recall what I paid for mine when I went from a 3:55. $60 bucks or so I think.
So I decided to check my speedo for accuracy today at speeds from 10-80 and it was 2 mph off at 60mph and slightly more there on up. I also checked my odo and it is less than .2 off a mile, so im not to worried. all checked my gps btw
