my friend has a 97 ram 5.2l. the service engine light is coming on, and the truck is barely driveable. he took the truck to a mechanic that said the "map sensor needed reset" he "reset" it and the truck drove fine for a few hours.

it spits and sputters when cold, and generally runs like crap intermittently.

sometimes it runs fine.

i want to start troubleshooting by retrieve the code from the computer. how can i do this? thanks.
