Default cruise add on

Im adding cruise control to my truck.I've changed the steering column already.does anyone know if I need to change the computer also?? I know the computer controls the cruise control.im hoping Dodge used the same computer module for cruise and no cruise..any advice would be appreciated.

There isn't even a difference in PCM between manual, and automatic PCMs...... Everything should be there. If you have the controls installed, the servo installed, and hooked up, and provided with vacuum, it should work.

Thanks for your answer...like I posted I got the new column installed and then read in the service manual that I should not use it because the airbags has been deployed...do you know anything about this and why I shouldn't it?

Just replace the air bag. They go off when the vehicle is smacked within a very narrow angle in front. The concern there being, the column may have been compromised. If it bolts up nice, doesn't have any binding, or make any rude noises when you turn it, and everything works as advertised, don't worry about it. I highly doubt that every time one of these trucks is involved in a minor fender bender, and the bag deploys, that they replace the entire steering column.

Might just be a CYA thing on their part too.....
