Default K&N FIPK 57-1507 for 1996 V10?

Has anybody here put the K&N FIPK #57-1057 on their V10? If so, what's your experience with it? How much Power/Mileage/Noise increase?

The K&N chart shows about 10 rwhp gain around 2500 rpm. Truck pulls fine...but 10hp is 10hp...I'll take it. Says it is far more responsive and is louder than stock. That's expected...but just how much louder?!

Original owner of a 96 2500HD CC, 4WD, stock V10 w/ K&N replacement filter, 4:10s, 285/75s on the stock wheels...pull a toyhauler...8-10k lbs loaded. Don't mind the extra noise around town when empty; and could use the 10hp when towing...but not if I can't hear the stereo over the air intake while cruising along at 2500rpm with the trailer behind me for hours at a time!

I don't have one on my truck (yet), but I've heard they bring a slightly noticeable improvement to acceleration...and a claimed 1mpg increase. I've never heard any complaints about the noise.
