Well, here's a quote from your other thread "i had to get a adapter for it to hook up then i had to cut wires..." I 'll bet that has something to do with it.

i took the dash apart today and ran the radio positive wire to the battery.. same thing. I just spliced the wires that were already hacked up cause the guy i got it from had aftermarket cd player in it. i dont beleive it to be the root of the problem...but i might try hooking up the radio the directley to the batter ground and postive and give that a shot thanks

I had a 77 regal when i turned head lights on radio went out i ran new wire straight from fuse box and it worked fine... but thats no way to diagnose the cause just a way to get you by... if run wires directly from power source it should not have any problems at all other than it wont turn off if your remote isnt placed right
