wipers on radio turns off

Default wipers on radio turns off

so a while back my wiper motor fried itself so i replaced...no problem then on my way to work tonight turn wipers on and when they are moving down my radio turns off....What the f is going on...no fues pop so i wouldnt think it would be a short

That is just weird........

Does the radio display go off as well? Or does it just stop playing?

Those parts aren't going to the computer so, there has to be a short somewhere up in there. That's gonna be a pita to find unless it's down low in the harness. Even if they were on the same circuit, once the circuit got overloaded they'd both go off.

yeah radio display goes off...then the wipers stop and it turns right back on...i dont have a clue. and the wipers never stop they always work great

There has to be a commonality in the circuits somewhere. That the display goes off suggests something in the IOD circuit, I don't have wiring diagrams for the 94, and I suspect there were a lot of changes from then, to the 01 diagrams that I DO have......

Has to be a bad connection of some sort at the source of power for both circuits. Should be a real joy to find.

This sounds like a problem you would have with a brand new ford or something lol

Maybe a bad ground connection at the wiper motor and/or radio? Bad grounds can cause weird problems.

thats my thought cause i dont blow fuses....but try tracking down these wires under the dash i think i may just run new radio wires lol

Did you have this problem before you installed the radio from the Durango or whatever you got it from? A little detail you might want to clue people in on.

i have had the radio in my truck for about 6 months.. and no problem then all of a sudden this comes up...i am pretty damn confused
