Is that normal? It's for sure water, at first I thought it was something else so I gave it the good old sniff test.

I say it's just condensation. Perfectly normal.

if it is not a head gasket it could be a bit of water in the gas. it is that time of year that it is hard to prevent it.

Compression is fine, 84k miles on it. Between 135 and 165 dry compression, and 165 and 190 wet. Not to mention, the steam doesn't hang around in a cloud. I know glycol vapor is heavier than air so it creates a cloud that hangs around for ages. BTW, this is a dead on cold start. I was adding in the 1" spacer on my 14x3 since the 1/2" was banging into the TV cable. I started it up figured I'd record a video of the tensioner noise, then looked back at the exhaust and went ... what the? LOL
