Default removing rear differential...

hello, need a lil help if anyone has experience with rear diff....i have a 97 dodge ram 4by4, i'm trying to get the carrier out, i took the cover off rear diff, i removed the locking pin, i removed the clamps and took out the axles...i just don't know how to take out the carrier/all the gears...is there a special tool? it seems loose and i don't want to start pulling on with tools cause i don't want to screw up anything that is still good.....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Should just pull right out. Might take a bit of effort.

if i remember right, there is these deals that on both sides, right where the axles coime into the main housing that you gotta loosen up i do believe, take a special tool. at least once a upon a time when i tried to take mine out i couldnt get it out cuz of those. they look like a a key kinda deal, if u look into ur axle and look towards the housing you will see a deal that look like it has 2 slots in it, and basically it needs to be loosened up so you can clear the gears to come out. at least thats how it was for me, someone else will chime in that knows more than me.
