Default 4.10s for a 1500?

Did any of the 4x4 1500s come with 4.10s stock? Maybe a tow package? I have a buddy that works at an auto recycler, but don't want to waste his time looking for a set if they didn't come as an option.

Thanks!

2000, and 2001 Off-Road editions came from the factory with 4.10 gears. Are you looking for set of used axles? If so, good luck with that.... makes hens' teeth look downright common.

if you are considering a gear swap, keep in mind you will have to either replace your front carrier as well, or, go with thick gears in the front. Rear will be no problem.

Yeah, it's a large recycler up here. But I'm guessing the OffRoad editions were rare?

Trucks not worth enough for me to regear it. But I can get axles for like $100 there.

It might be worth a look anyway. Worst they can do is say "No."

The Dana 44 from those Rams was kinda cool too because it was trussed. If you can find one, it would indeed be a find.

Just have the look for a set of Dana 60's from a 3/4 ton. Lots of those had 4.10s and they are more common than the offroad edition. The swap would only be slightly more difficult than swapping another set of 1/2 ton axles. You will need drive shafts too though.
