Default Throttle body... sensor????

I have a 99' with a 5.2L, stock intake. Where abouts are the sensors on the intake and throttle body?? What are they? O2, Mass air???? Are these sensors affected by heat?? The reason why I ask is that I have been having trouble with my truck running smooth, and a couple of days ago I was lookin under the hood and noticed that the boot on the intake was off a little, so I pushed it back on. Surprisingly it is running better, not perfect but better. Am I just imagining this improvement or is there a sensor that can be affected by the warmer air?

the colder the air, the more power you'll make... cold air is dense air and helps to build more power... with the hot air, your more prone to pinging also...

I didn't know that hotter air is more prone to pinging. But the lack of power or absence of power all together, makes me kind of think it was a coincidence. Ok so back to the fuel filter theory...

Have you done the basis yet? tune up... plugs, cap & rotor? plug gap is important, .040 max. I recommend MSD 8.5 wires and NGK ZR5F-11 plugs. then run a can of BK44 fuel injector cleaner thru it on about 10~15 gal of fuel. dirty injectors will cause poor performance. the fuel filter is located in the tank and is part of the fuel pump assembly. it was not intended to be swapped out easily.
