Default plenum question

So a question, if you aren't really going through oil (half a quart in 3500 miles) can you have a blown plenum? it was my understanding that plenum leaks caused you to leak oil like a ****

They can, and excessive oil consumption is indeed a sure sign of a blown plenum. Your oil consumption is pretty normal for an old truck though. Have you looked down your throttle body to see what things look like?

How much power is a truck with 145k miles supposed to have? I haven't really hit the throttle hard enough recently or towed anything to noticed one way or the other. I may have lost some. When i swapped the TB in january the intake was jet black inside. If i look again what should I be looking for.

Oil, use a small mirror and a light to look all around inside.

Will check tommorrow when I get it in the shop. I forgot to say that my concern is that my economy droped from 17-18 highway to 12. This was after a major tune up. prior to this I was getting 13 - 14 highway.

145,000 miles is not a huge amount if the motor was taken care of you should still have the same amount of power from when it was new
