Default 36" tires on 96 2500 with 6" lift?

i posted yesterday regarding a transfer case lowering possibility due to steep angles on my driveshaft. im left with having to knock 2" off my 8" lift to take care of my angle problem. will 36" tires rub on a 6" lift on this truck? i noticed lotsa owners on here have similar lifts and tires so im hopin to settle a little unease as to whether or not i should expect "rubbage". anyone have this lift and tires? any problems?

Depends on your wheels.

I got to thinking, the only company who makes a 6" lift for our trucks is fabtech and it's there long arm kit. Can you post pics of your front suspension. I'm curious to see this.

i dont think its a fabtech but i cant post any pics of front end as its at the shop but im fully aware that it was an 8" lift....what denomination of lift i dont know. i bought the truck from a dealer here in BC and have had nothin but problems with it so far. power steering box leakin, front driveshaft went as soon as i engaged as it was way too steep of angle, the thermostat housing cracked, and it also needed a tierod end jeeeez and all within a week of buying it!! but its at a reputable shop gettin all the repairs done for free as i almost drove it thru the dealers front door i was so pissed . anyway pics of the truck are in my "garage" if it helps. i doubt ill have any problems with rubbing but i wanna get your guys thoughts in case i need to bring anything to the dealers attention again as lift kits are NOT my niche, motors are. cheers!

That sucks man. Tons of people run the 5" kit with 2-3" spacers with no problems. I'm still trying to figure out what makes yours different lol.

Unless they are really wide 36's with wide wheels, you will have plenty of room with 6" on a 2500.

8" is pushing it for the front shaft. One cheap way to help with binding is to clearance the yokes around the u-joints. You don't have to removed much product and it allows for quite a bit more angle. Actually, the fabtech lift kit directions actually show exactly how/where to grind. You can look it up on-line.

Bout the only other way to solve the binding issue is with an indexing ring or a completely new shaft.
