Default suspension question, 1500 2500, 3500???

I have a 98 ram 1500, but wondering if I could upgrade to a 2500 or 3500? Besides them having bigger axles, isn't just the leafs and coils bigger and stiffer? Thus givin me a higher stance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

For the most part, everything is pretty much interchangeable below the frame, varying a bit by year..... One BIG difference though, is rear leaf spring width. On the heavier duty trucks, rear leaves are 3 inches wide, as opposed to the half-tons, that are 2.5 inches.
