Default Help!!!! Hood won't latch

So this moring I changed the oil in my truck, finished the job and went to shut the hood and and go for a drive. The hood will not latch. The latch that you use after the pulling the lever inside the truck is latching but the main latch is not working. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Check the service bulletins in the FAQ section. I think there was a recall/TSB for the hood latch on some models.

That was for the secondary hood latch I think.

Check the latch, and make sure the locking lever hasn't just stuck in place. I think there is a spring on it.... but, not 100%.

Yeah probably just a lever stuck check the lever where the hood pop wire attaches they love to hang up. Just lube it up and get a screw driver in there and push it back.

Use PB Blaster to free it up then use WD-40 to keep it free. Thats what i've done and never had an issue so far.

I seem to remember a little plastic part that holds one of the metal rods in place. I dropped mine when changing my grill and the hood didn't latch. I used some electrical tape as a short term fix to replace the little plastic clamp, but it's working so well I've not gone back to fix it right in at least a year.
