Default 3"+ 5" suspension lift ?'s

I got ahold of a 5" skyjacker which is lift coils up front and a block in the rear. my current suspension lift is a 3" rancho lift with cast iron spacers up front and tiny lift blocks in the rear maybe ann inch tall. i have already done a rear shackle flip to fit the tera flex shackles. my questions are How much higher is the 5" lift coil going to make the front sit? and how can i pick the rear up to the same level or maybe a inch higher and possibly ditch the blocks? flex is my main concern My current RTI score is 555 and Would like to keep it that way i can't afford to lose any flex.

my front spacer is 4" so i'm thinking the the skyjacker spring compressed is going to be 6" taller than my factory spring compressed. so that will mean 6" taller up front, Holy Cow thats huge! Is that right? how the heck am i going to get the rear that high?

i scored a set of 4 inch lift springs off a wrecked truck...i think they were rancho or tough country (will check) but they should pick my truck up alot i plan on loseing my blocks and runnning only springs. but i am 2wd and only have 2.5 springs and 3.5 spindles waiting to instal....sorry got off topic..to many beers and no one one to talk to at the dorms. here is a link to decent priced lift leaves

they have 6" springs just no price on them. 159 is the cheapest i have found /spring that seems to be the best around price wise

Don't go too crazy with the lifts, you may need to get your drive shafts lengthened and that can add to quite a bit to the cost of your lift.

I will also be swapping in my d80 and d60 when i do the lift so i will have to hack up the drive shafts anyways.

ok thinking about doing a triangulated four link in the rear and using the stock front coils as rear coils or i can custom make a bracket to move my shackle down and use a longer shackle in place of the revolver shackles. what ya'll think? i can do a triangulated four link for 800 bones

Ok. As far as adding your current coil spacers on top of a 5" suspension kit, I wouldn't do it. The control arms will be too short, along with the drop pitman arm and track-bar bracket. Your entire front axle will be "out-of-whack" and it will be way off center (front to back and side to side). That being said, I have seen many people do it... but that doesn't mean its right.

And I would be willing to bet your current spacer is only a 3" unit. Sure, it may measure 4" in total height, but the spring actually mounts an inch or so up into it.

As far as linking the rear, I say go for it. Just make sure you know what you are doing as far as welding goes, as well as setting up a 4 link. Sure, you can easily buy link ends and even link mounts that can be attached to the frame, but you still need to know where/how to mount everything for it to work properly. And, as far as using coils from the front of the truck on the rear, I'm not so sure that would be the best idea. I'm sure it would be quite stiff, as they are set up to support the weight of the motor as apposed to an empty bed. Maybe snag some lift coil springs form a 4th gen rear axle and incorporate those?

Good luck, and post pics.
