Default Muffler Advice

I've got a 2001 Ram 4x2 with a 360V8. I'm wanting to dual exhaust it from the muffler back and run the pipes around the receiving hitch.

I used to have a 98 Chevy Cheyenne with a 5L V8 that was configured that way with a MagnaFlow muffler and it sounded great, nice tone, wasn't overly loud for what's under the hood. I don't know what model the muffler was as it was already on it when I got it so I'm looking for advice on which one to go with.

My father-in-law had a 2001 F150 with a 5.4L V8 with some some Road Runner mufflers, it was a "true" dual exhaust from the motor back, and it didn't have near the tone and sound that my Cheyenne did just "Y" piped.

Thanks.

If it makes any difference it's the 5.9L 360 V8.

I have the 5.9 with an AeroTurbine AT3030 muffler. Sounded sweet with a catalytic converter, but when I gutted my cat, it just sounded like straight pipe. Its a straight through design and a muffler I will install on all future pickups...

I have a l large resonator or what some people would call a tractor muffler on mine. Its about 6" by 20-24" it has a good rumble and really cracks when I get on her. She is a lot louder then my buddies true dual glass packs and deeper sounding too. Hollowed out cat and 2.5 single out the back and no it doesn't throw any code lol
