Door locks gone crazy
Thanks for the replies. Forgot to mention that this also happens when I am driving it, going down the road and the locks start acting like they are in seizuring.
I have tried unplugging the truck for the reset many times now with no success, even took the battery out for a weekend to make sure all power was really gone, I know 30sec is all thats needed but I was going to desulphate my battery anyways.
When I replaced the window/lock switch it was only the driver side that I changed. Both sides lock and unlock in unison.
I don't think the key fob is the problem, but that is easy enough to test. The battery has died in it enough times now that I keep 2 batteries in my center console just in case, it never acted strangely when is was running low though.
The exorcism didn't work
Yeah I could use the key to get into the truck, but I don't like hearing the alarm go off so I just fight with the darn thing instead.
When my wife comes home tonight I will swap remotes and go for a drive and see if it makes a difference. Most likely it is the relay, is there another relay that is the same that I could swap with to test it out? I was worried that it might be something with the computer, can't afford any expensive fixes atm.

As alegar stated, the problem might also be an internal fault in your alarm box. Which would be harder to fix, but easy to circumvent (you'd have to use the key to open your doors).
I know on my old chevy with a factory alarm, there was what is known as a "valet switch" under the dash to the left of where the drivers legs go.
The trick was to find the switch, turn the key to the "on" (not start) position, flip the switch, wait 30 seconds, turn the key off, then back on. Doing this turned the alarm off completely.... At least on my chevy it did. Might work for you.

Well whatever is going on is still confusing me. Since my last post it hasn't had this issue again, not once. What is irritating is that I didn't do anything to fix it and it has corrected itself once before.
So I guess I will wait to see if it starts to do it again and update you guys as it goes.
One more thing, I never could find a 'door locks relay', what is it called and where is it located?
Thanks

The door locks on my 2000 Ram V8 Sport model have started to have a mind of there own. They will lock and unlock over and over really fast sometimes, while driving, or when trying to lock/unlock. It is very frustrating when I have to press the unlock on my remote 30 times in succession while having my hand on the handle trying to open the door before it locks itself again. Or fighting with it to stay locked, many times now I have come back from a store etc to find it unlocked after I had tried locking it so many times.
This has been happening for months now, I replaced the driver side window/lock control switch (it had died already) hoping it would fix it but there has been no change. Any ideas why my door locks have gone crazy? Any and all help is appreciated.

Yall r all wrong. "Dodge disarm switch" located on back of door lock cylinder. Mines been doin it for years until the other day I finally took it apart n fixed it. They're known to short circuit n go nuts. I finally fixed mine by pullin the pass one n swappin the driver side harness connector onto it. Part is discontinued btw. Locks havent cycled once since. Even left it unlocked last night n guess wut....it was STILL unlocked this mornin!
