Default Major engine work ahead of me

Ok, so I'm going to be replacing the oil pan gasket, rear main, and the front crank seal. I figured for an extra $25 I could put in a new oil pump as well since it will be right there once the pan is off.

Since I have a front crank leak I might as well replace the timing gears and chain for an extra $40 and that way I can put on a new timing seal and gasket, that way I can inspect my water pump for any leaks and throw a new gasket on it if it checks out ok.

If you have read my previous thread I mentioned that I have an exhaust manifold gasket leak so I'll be replacing those as well, now if I'm correct my truck doesn't have a donut gasket for the flange right?

I just checked my truck the other day and found out that my plenum plate is original so I bought the aluminum plate from hughes so I will be doing that as well as replacing the intake gaskets.

Might as well throw on some new valve cover gaskets right?

I also have a radiator leak so I might try to fix that on my own or just replace it, I know that it is the original so it's 13 years old and those things don't last too much longer than that.

Last but not least I am going to be replacing the transmission pan gasket and adjusting the bands.

If anyone has any ideas as to what else I should replace then please let me know, thanks!

look into 02 Sensors as well probably about time for those, and if you are doing the plenum then its a perfect time to do that.

Also some plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and you should be golden.

There aren't any exhaust gaskets from the factory.

That's a pretty good list you got there man, only thing I'd add is a little seafoam in the intake (to clean the valves and piston heads of carbon). After you do all this, it should run like new.

Keep us posted

Speaking of SeaFoam, where can I get some? Where else should I put some besides the intake?

If you're going this deep, why not just yank the engine and go through it from stem-to-stern?

That's a good point, I dont have what is necessary (tool wise) for taking the engine out, but what else beside what I listed would you recommend?

Wal-mart is cheapest in my experience. You can also dump a can in the gas tank to clean the fuel system somewhat.

It says it can be used in the oil to clean the crankcase as well... I wouldn't do it, something about adding a solvent to oil gets my paranoia riled up.
