Bought a 98 1500 4x4 5.9 last year. It has 200+ on it and runs great, except I had to replace the alternator last summer. Since then the battery wont hold a charge and I have had everything tested. Every time I try and start it, I have to jump it to get it going. Then the battery still won't hold a charge. Any advice would help, I have tested everything. The alternator is good and battery is brand new, the second one after I killed the first one for the same issue. Anyone else had a problem similar to this? I can't think of anything that would be draining the battery. Thanks in advance.

 

is alternator hooked up right?? does it start again right after you shut it off or does battery slowly drain over night??

 

well just another thing i dont think anything on your truck would possibly drain battery faster than it charges... check charging system
