Default 1996 V10 With a 47RE question

Vehicle: 1996 Ram 3500 dually V-10.
Its time for a trans service, but I noticed the rubber lines to the external cooler were slightly cracked so I figured I would change out the rubber while I had the fluid drained, so I ordered some replacement lines. I found out there is more to it than just ordering a couple of lines. My set up is from the trans to a stock Mopar external cooler to the radiator and back to the trans. The external cooler lines are one part number for the two lines (4863830AD), then there is a short rubber hose with a check valve to a steel line and a rubber line swedged to a steel line.

I ordered the external cooler lines from Mopar, and the other lines from Plews-Edelmann, but the Plews-Edelmann lines came with flared ends on the trans side instead of matching the quick connects on the trans. I guess I could remove the quick connects and screw in the flared lines, but I'm concerned about re-configuring something that has been working for 15 years. Also there is a short rubber hose with a quick connect on one end and a flare fitting on the other that goes from the trans to the radiator cooler that doesn't seem to have flow either way. I think its supposed to be a check valve, but this is checking both ways with a "blow test". Maybe its fine, but it seems pretty restrictive for any flow at all. The quick connects on the Plews lines are metal, but they do not extend out of the connection like the stock connects. I'm thinking of sending the lines back and getting Mopar lines even though they are twice the cost.

Has anyone run into this on their Ram?

Thanks for any advice.
