canister under chassis
What if I have no catalytic converter. Like I still got the exhaust and everything , who ever had it before me they just did the delete by cutting catalytic converter open taking all material out and welding back shut. Would it still be possible to clog?.. I wanna say no right, but I think this trucks been having some problem with vacuum since I got it almost 2 years ago. Haven't been able to find it. Replaced purge valve about a year ago because it was ticking and could see it like pulsating. Was fine for a few weeks. Started slowly doing the ticking on purge valve again. Then one day it just died, battery's fine. If you start it it dies instantly but if you keep your foot on pedal it stays on but runs like crap. Sounds like its struggling to breath, So I took my vacuum lines off the purge valve and so much black ash (charcoal) fell out so I did more research found out my charcoal canister had ruptured and my vacuum line going into my purge valve is completely clogged. Gonna try to replace charcoal canister and purge valve and blow out vacuum lines. Also I'm having trouble finding the 3 way elbow connector that goes on back of canister towards gas tank. I've had dodge tell me its discontinued. I don't see why a little rubber piece could get discontinued. Wouldn't doubt it though. Anything for them to just want me to switch to something new and over priced. Gonna try to look at local junk yards and if I have no luck. I think I'm gonna probably try the delete next. Anything else anyone recommends?
