Default 97 Ram Transmission Question

I am having some transmission problems and I have searched the archives here and a few other sites and I am pretty sure I have a Governor Pressure Solenoid problem.

So I ordered a new Governor Pressure Solenoid, Governor Pressure Sensor, and for good measure an Overdrive/Lockup Solenoid (also know as Torque Converter Control).

My question is, do I need to remove the Valve Body in order to replace the Overdrive/Lockup Solenoid? I found the Governor Pressure Solenoid in the factory service manual, it looks pretty straight forward, but can't get a clear picture of what needs to be done to remove/replace the Overdrive/Lockup Solenoid. Is there any write ups on this, or any other information?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Justin

Pretty sure you have to drop the valve body for the O/D and TCC solenoids.

No codes, I unplugged the TC Solenoid and the transmission shifts fine if shifted manually. It is also pretty inconsistent with the shifting problems, everything points to an electrical problem. I know that these things can sometimes go bad without throwing any codes.

Thanks for the reply. I kept searching and found a video of the valve body and it does look like it will have to come down. It looks like you might be able to get to it without dropping it, but it will be a lot harder.
