i paid 2800 for mine. '01 quadcab shortbed 1500 4x4. have since replaced both front hub assemblies, brake pads twice(sh*tty ones the first time), both rear wheel cylinders, transmission(summer of 09), and bought and installed(myself) a plow setup for under 1200! of course i have some upgrades, so came to my hands for free, others were bought for me, and others i bought and paid for myself. all in all i have spent about 4k on parts whether its replacement or aftermarket goodies.

2000 Bucks for mine and have yet to replace anything major. I have lushed the heater core, put new wiper blades and oil change in her, a front O2 sensor and had the exhaust fixed. Seems to run pretty good for a truck with 220k on her. The rearend is starting to growl some so a rebuild is getting ready to happen. Yeah I have a few things that should be done but hey it is a work in progress sure beats the 84s10 I was driveing. Everyone griped that I should have kept the s10 be cause it was cheaper on gas (an a good day it might get 5MPG lol) but I wanted something that I didnt have to wonder if it was going to make it to work plus the family just didnt fit in the cab. 3 things sold this truck 1) PRICE 2) It was extended cab (did I mention it is huge compared to any other truck in my price range) and 3) 4 wheel drive. The little 10 about slid up onto its roof to many times trying to make it up the drive during winter lol

I traded a 91 camaro with leaky t-tops and a banged up fender for my fully loaded 01 ram 2500. Trans needs a new front band but I still think I did ok.

I paid to much for mine then lol. 7200 with 80,000 miles on it solid as a rock out side and underneath. If I had to do it again I would pay the 7200 no questions asked

7200 with that many miles (low) and has not given you problems....that is a fair deal if you bought it in 2011. better deal if bought earlier...as the truck would have been younger.

I paid 10K for mine in 2008. 42K miles bone stock, and it still has the factory extended warranty until march 2011 or 98K miles. Warranty covered a power steering pump and a transfer case! The truck is fully loaded. The only thing it did not have was the heated seats.

I just got an extended warranty for it for 1295. adds 6 years or until 100K.

Yeah I bought it 2 years ago. The lot wanted 8900 for it but I got them down to 7200. I dont think it was to bad of a deal just wish the trans would have been replaced before I bought it lol. Hopefully it holds out a few more years

You got a good deal. 2nd gen Rams under 100K are hard to find.

I paid 9200 (in 2004) for a 1996 4x4 that had the tranny replaced. It was lifted and had 72K miles. Probably overpaid by about 6-800 dollars. But that was not too bad. It had the Mopar PCM and better injectors.

Since that buy and being on here, it was my dream to own a 2001 5.9 off road package ram. I got one with "cherry" interior and outside. no rust (to this day) on the underside. 10K was a steal for my truck at 42K miles. the bank was willing to finance 14K on the truck!!!

I think my truck will last me 10 more years. MAYBE the tranny and power steering will need to be replaced to get 10 more years (perfectly fine now). But if you think about it, you are talking about 4000 dollars for another 10 years (that is for top of the line tranny and steering box). That is a bargain!!!
