Larger shackle, will that lower the truck?
got a quick question.
I found some shackles that will fit my truck that are about twice as long as the stock shackles, but it says lowering shackles on the box...
Now would a larger shackle give me less height? this is puzzling me....to me it seems id get more height.
if this is the case, i will only put it on the drivers side, because the shackle is 2 1/4in longer then the stock shackles, and my drivers side sags about 2 in more then passenger....i thought this would be good since its only 30 bucks for the pair.

The shackles are flipped up when stock, so a longer shackle=leafspring goes up towards the bed=axle closer to top of wheel well
Simpler definition: it would put the ends of the leafsprings closer to the bed, which tucks them further into the bed, thus moving the axle further up.... if that makes any sense at all... too many beers... yes, it will lower it

It does move the axle. I flipped mine, but used stock shackles and it moved forward a hair. With lift shackles, it will move considerably more. But a $40 zero-rate block kit can solve the problem if it concerns you.
