Picture isn't real clear, but, from what I can tell, it isn't too bad.

Ignition timing is controlled by the crank sensor, cam sensor controls when the injectors fire. (fuel sync) So, turning the dist isn't really a good option here.

I went thru the same thing and ended up being the CPS. Replaced it and reset the PCM and it works perfectly now. Your CPS must be going out.

Dealer is safest. Albeit, priciest as well....... Our trucks just don't like some of the aftermarket sensors in critical places.

Just wanted to update my situation with this rough Idle. I havn't replaced the CPS yet but I did a running compression check on CYL 5 and the most it pumped up to was 75 psi for a split second with a solid reading of 45 PSI which I beleive to be a problem with the head. I also checked CYL 3 and it pumped to a 100 with a solid reading of 75. Cranking compression on CYL 5 was 160 PSI and same with CYL 3. Can someone confirm that new heads is needed with these numbers? I can know feel the miss in overdrive a low RPM and at Idle. Ans also you think with this low of compression if it will pass smog if I can sneak it in the smog shop if the CEL isnt on and still pass the sniffer? Thanks for all the help.
