Default New CD Deck issues

My OEM CD Player stopped playing CD's so I bought a new deck. It's a Kenwood KDC-HD548U. I also bought the wiring harness and installation kit.

I connect the harness and it turns on and is functional. Except there is no sound. I tried the old radio to make sure, and the speakers work. I double checked the wiring harness and all the wires are properly connected.

Anyone else have issues like this?

I had a kenwood that would turn on and off for no reason. Found out that the ground was not into a good source.

It is probably your ground being bad.

That would also cause it to be on but no sound? So to fix that do I just wire a ground from the deck to some metal?

yeah, make sure that whatever the ground is connected to, actually is a GOOD ground. A bad ground can still have it go on, but it will function improperly.

Just because it is clipped to metal, does not mean that the metal is connected to the rest of the truck. I first fixed it to the metal on the ash tray bracket....but that was connected to the PLASTIC dash. thus, a bad ground.

Ok I have 3 extra wires not used on the harness.

Steering Wheel Remote Input Light blue/yellow
Power Control Blue/White
Antenna Control Blue

So which do I connect to the power antenna on the radio?
